Eleanor & Park

Eleanor & Park - Rainbow Rowell pitter pats.My heart! This was cute and painful and warmed me all over.
My Life Next Door - Huntley Fitzpatrick Jason Garrett. That is all...for now.

MILA 2.0

MILA 2.0 - 2.5 StarsI was...underwhelmed.

Sheltered

Sheltered - Charlotte Stein This was such a fun and smutty read. However, I can't help wishing there was more. It was too too short. I wish the conflict between Evie and her family was fleshed out some more, as well as Evie and and Van's connection and relationship. I also would have loved to know who Evie became after gaining freedom and changing her life dynamic so completely. Best thing about Sheltered was the hero, Van--so so sweet, I LOVE HIM!-- and Evie. As naive and innocent Evie was, she was so darn endearing and funny. She had me laughing out loud a plenty! Though, I feel like there is still so much left unsaid in this story, I enjoyed it cover to cover! I do hope she writes a sequel. I'm dying to know where they go from here. Give it a go, friends!
Scarlet - Marissa Meyer Proper review to come. For now:I am just relieved that Kai is not the ruler of the new America in this story. I would be further pissed off. He is one of the utterly weakest, daft, nonsensical, unprepared leaders I've ever had the displeasure of reading. Him and his stupid advisers are dumber than dirt, and I just don't get why the rest of Earth would be okay with his poor decision making skills. It affects them all after all. If they can weigh in on his coronation, shouldn't they also weigh in on his diplomatic choices that will ultimately affect the rest of them?Oh, wait! That's because there are a lot other things going on in this series that causes a logical brain like mine to call bullsh-t! on a lot of the characters' courses of actions and that is the plot developments in the story. Despite my MAJOR misgivings about the behavior and courses of actions and so many other big things seemingly essential to the story, I am a fan of this series. Grudgingly. (Ugh, this is cognitive dissonance! It's killing me.)I want to know how it ends and where it goes from here, and I can't wait to get my hands on Cress and Winter, the 3rd and 4th books in the series. This series requires a bit of a stretch of imagination that overlooks logic a lot. It was frustrating to read because of the simultaneous polarizing emotions I was experiencing. Nonetheless, it's a lot of fun, and interesting things happen that keep you turning the page.

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles Series #1)

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles Series #1) - but why is this a considered Cinderella retelling?

Quicksilver

Quicksilver - R.J. Anderson I won't be reading anymore of Anderson's books, i don't think. This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't that exciting either. I just feel and overwhelming sense of apathy. *Yawn* On to the next.

On the Jellicoe Road - Melina Marchetta Sigh. Just as impressed as I was the very first time. Also, Jonah Griggs is probably my Number One, yo. Serious (I mean I knew he was top three, but...). He is EVERYTHING! I am so irrevocably and completely in love with him. Chaz and Jude are also my beautiful beautiful man-boys that I heart so so much. I love 99% of everyone who is a character in this book. Read it!

Code Name Verity

Code Name Verity - Elizabeth Wein I do wish Maddie didn't cry so much.
Just One Day - Gayle Forman This makes me want to go and live MORE. I'm not doing enough living.

Through the Ever Night

Through the Ever Night - I'm still on board with this series, but I've resigned myself to just accept the fact that Rossi may be a very limited writer when it comes to her capability of writing cohesive and thorough plot, story development, and action. She makes gutsy decisions that would--or rather should--give her story heart and plenty of soul to anchor it solidly as YA-lit that has more depth than the generic formulas so prevalent in the fantasy genre. But sadly, her inability to execute these exciting and ballsy ideas and developments left too much to be desired for it to really make this story substantial. That's exactly it, the writing was insubstantial. It's a series of pseudo-vignettes scratching the surface of so many GREAT things! A spark that fizzled out just when it was on the cusp of igniting into a massive fire. More on this later i.e., full review to come.
Shadowfever - Karen Marie Moning Barrons Barrons Barrons. sigh.

The Sea of Tranquility: A Novel

The Sea of Tranquility: A Novel - Katja Millay This book! It's just about everything I didn't expect it to be with the exception of it being an extremely good story. Full review to come

Roar and Liv

Roar and Liv - Heartichokes!Just six more days until I get the sequel in my hands! HURRY!

Gone Girl: A Novel

Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn "I had been thoroughly, finally outplayed. I created a manuscript, and she created a life"I hated Nick Dunn so much that in the end I was able to overlook--relish even--the batshit crazy that is his wife.So much to say, but I have to tread carefully so not to spoil.
